DEVB lists approved public works contractors, not every engineering company in Hong Kong. Private buildings, electrical work, fire services, minor works and subcontracting have separate verification sources; one company may appear under multiple schemes.
Construction, E&M, fire services, renovation… these are works scopes, not licences.
Verify the full legal entity name, number, category, validity period and suspension remarks.
A register record does not mean a website account is authorised to submit an EOI on behalf of the company.

Development Bureau
Public Procurement RegisterBuildings, Port Works, Roads and Drainage, Site Formation, Waterworks; listed by category and group.
Holder:Contractor
The register may include suspended companies; check group and remarks separately. It is not a complete list of all engineering companies in Hong Kong.
OpenTender Coverage:Snapshot of general contractors included; not real-time qualification verification.

Public Procurement RegisterDesignated specialist works and material categories required for public works.
Holder:Contractor / Supplier
Separate from the DEVB general contractors list, and not equivalent to the Buildings Department RSC.

Buildings Department
Contractor RegistrationGeneral building contractors, specialist contractors, and minor works contractors.
Holder:Companies / individuals must be checked separately
Private development building works also have a registration system. RMWC companies and individuals are separate registrations; the type and works class must be verified.

Electrical and Mechanical Services Department
Electrical RegistrationSearch for registered electrical contractors by company name or registration number.
Holder:Contractor
REC (contractor) and REW (electrical worker) are separate; an employee's individual registration cannot be treated as a company registration.
OpenTender Coverage:已收錄機電署官方開放數據全日名冊，每日自動更新；不是即時資格核證。不含 REW 電業工程人員。
Electrical and Mechanical Services Department
升降機登記註冊升降機承辦商公司名冊，與升降機工程師／工程人員分開。
Holder:Contractor
到期日以來源原文為準，不能把工程人員登記當成公司資格。不是即時核證。

Fire Services Department

The specified registration category must be verified; having a fire service description does not mean the fire services registration has been verified.
OpenTender Coverage:官方全日名冊為互動查冊；開放數據只涵蓋部分自願名單，故未當全日名冊匯入。
Construction Industry Council
Trade Registration SchemeSpecialist trade contractors and general subcontractors are searched separately, suitable for finding sub-cons by trade.
Holder:Company
This is not the DEVB public works register and cannot replace the relevant statutory licences. A verification code may be required for the search.
OpenTender Coverage:官方查冊需驗證碼及用途聲明；不繞過驗證碼，尚未匯入公司紀錄。
Hong Kong Housing Authority
Organisation Procurement RegisterSearch Housing Authority counterparties by List Type, Category and Group.
Holder:Company
This is the Housing Authority's own register and must not be treated as the same list as DEVB; note any suspension-from-tendering annotations.

Water Supplies Department
Individual LicenceFind licensed plumbers and verify individual licences.
Holder:Individuals, not a company register
The plumbers directory must not be treated directly as a list of engineering companies, nor should it automatically confer company status on their employers.
OpenTender Coverage:Provides a verification entry point; does not import personal data into company records.
Not listed, name unmatched, unverified, expired, and suspended are different statuses. Similarity in brand name alone cannot link qualifications; legal entities under the same group cannot borrow each other's registration. Whether a specified project can be undertaken must be checked against the latest official records and project requirements.
